Youterus
With Youterus we experience the visualization of one of the last intimate processes within our technological world. The design for a wearable, external womb creatively questions our socio-biologically picture of motherhood and explores possible alternatives to the female pregnancy – detached from gender and age.
Sharing the mother-child bond among several people could strengthens the autonomy of the female body and furthermore could create an equal way of living through more flexibility in traditional role models and life plans.
How would society develop if pregnancy would exist detached from the ideal image of a fertile female body? What are new questions and problems of this sketch?
